Same dress, different day

A friend recently turned me on to the The Uniform Project and it is one of my new favorite dailies. It highlights sustainable and unique fashion, all for a good cause! The deal is that the author wears the same dress every day for a year, creatively accessorizing with different layers, jewelry, hats, handmade goodies, etc. It is all to promote sustainability while raising money for The Ananksha Foundation, which is an amazing charity dedicated to bringing education to slum children in India (you should really take a minute to check out their website - it tells a very powerful story). The best part of the whole thing is that even if you can't afford to donate cash, you can still help out and be part of the project. Doesn't it make you want to run to your closet, sift through the clothes and donate a hand me down treasure? If you are a designer, you can also donate one-of-a-kind pieces for inclusion in one of the photos! Here are just a couple of my favorite looks from the past couple of months.

I love the yellow accessories, and what a good belt can do for an outfit!
I would never think to do the layering in this look - super cute with the green socks!
I am a sucker for a big collar. I just can't help myself!
My all-time favorite look so far.
It makes me want to head to the Kentucky Derby and sip on a mint julep!

  1. That derby outfit is awesome!

I totally wish I could pull off knee socks (a la Clueless) but I doubt it. She looks great, though.

  2. OMG - the first comment - how exciting! Thanks so much for taking a peek at my blog. I am completely new, but have read so many great blogs lately, I was inspired to create one of my own.

She totally rocks the look, but I am not sure I could pull off the green socks, or most of her other accessories, either! I still love them, and the concept of the whole thing.
